Gear Oil Tailor-made for Stock Car Qualifying
Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil is formulated specifically for racing gears and transmissions. Racing gears and transmissions see more RPM, higher loads and increased temperatures compared to street gears and transmissions, so racing gears and transmissions requires higher levels of Phosphorus, Sulfur and other additives to prevent premature part failure. This is especially true in hypoid cut gear sets. This is where Joe Gibbs Driven Synthetic Qualifying Gear Oil come in.
An ultra-light synthetic gear oil, Joe Gibbs Driven Synthetic Qualifying Gear Oil is designed to reduce parasitic drag for qualifying runs when rear gear and transmission temperatures are below 200°F. More than just a single application/scenario product, qualifying gear oil can also be used as a manual transmission fluid and works well in drag race gear sets where the rear gears are not preheated This makes it perfect for late model qualifying and offers proven durability in spiral bevel gear sets.
Why Use Synthetic Fluids?
Oil does more than just reduce friction and wear. It also serves as a vital coolant throughout your engine. Keeping parts cool and well lubricated enables parts to last longer, so the Joe Gibbs Racing team sprays oil on their valve springs, camshafts and pistons to keep them cool. The high temperatures on these parts would cause conventional oils to breakdown much faster than synthetic oil. The proof of this is in the fact that conventional base oils can handle up to 320°F operating temperatures, while synthetic base oils can handle up to 554°F operating temperatures. The improved thermal stability of synthetic oil provides increased oil longevity. These shear stable oils allow you to safely run lower viscosity oils that increase horsepower - without the danger of viscosity breakdown. Joe Gibbs Driven racing oils maintain their viscosity even after 500 miles of competition, so parts stay cool and well lubricated.
